Pubs and Bars in St. Pauli
St. Pauli is a district with many nice pubs and bars. You don't have to walk far until you find a new interesting place to explore. The closer to Reeperbahn you get the closer it is between them.
Bar Centrale is now a closed down bar and was run by a nice Englishman named Max. It was late afternoon when we entered the emty premises to enjoy a cold beer in the hot summer. Despite we were the only guests, the atmosphere in the bar pleased us. Much because of Max, the nice owner. We sat there for a couple of hours, waiting for Reeperbahn to transform from shopping street to party jungle.
The next year the bar had been closed and was replaced with a new one, Café Absurd, which didnt struck us the least.
The Shamrock Irish Pub
The Shamrock Irish Pub has been up and running for over 25 years. They have a big screen TV where they show sports. If there's no match played at the moment you can challenge a friend in table football. There's also a dartboard if you want something to do while enjoying your Guinness in this fantastic atmosphere.
This pub is located not far from Hotel Figaro (~5 min walk) and Budapester Hof (~8 min walk). Check the map of St. Pauli.

The Tower is a bar that also serves food, that is situated at Hafenkrankenhaus between Reeperbahn and Landungsbrücken. Here you can temporarily escape from the sinful Reeperbahn to relax and recharge. Here you have an excellent view of the harbor, so you have a close eye on your yacht.

Bar Rossi is a popular bar and club in the north of St. Pauli, far from the Reeperbahn's intense nightlife. This place is hip and moody, dark and groovy, and furnished with comfortable sofas, overlooking the city by several panoramic windows. The DJ plays mostly techno and drum'n'bass.
